The Norris School District Macrocosm distinguishes a learner centric approach to developing agency and leadership at all levels. LEARNER NETWORK is one of the core principles of the macrocosm.
An interdependent team of professionals form a network to support learner engagement and develop self advocacy.
A team of interdependent educators with specialized roles are more cost efficient and sustainable. The Learning Network is an intricate and systematic orchestration of people and resources working harmoniously to support students' learning. At the core of the team is a commitment to building learner agency, efficacy, and socially embedded learners. This steadfast focus requires each member of the learning network to be committed to building positive relationships and gaining a DEEP understanding of each learner, and supporting learning experiences that are relevant to the interests and career needs and aspirations of each learner. Leadership across the network is shared with each member of the network engaging with learners in different ways from the development of the Learner Profile to the implementation of the Plan and Pathway. The success of the model depends on airtight communication and collaboration between all members of the learner network. With this communication and all members fulfilling their unique role, the learning network is able to work harmoniously to respond to the needs of each and every learner it supports.
