Per accountability requirements, the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has developed an alternate accountability process for schools that do not have data necessary to calculate a school report card score. This includes the following:
- Schools with fewer than 20 full academic year (FAY) students tested in grades 3-11;
- Schools without tested grades, including K-2 schools;
- New schools.
Norris is an Alternate Accountability school. Annually, Norris submits local data and indicators to gauge student progress. This data indicates if performance is improving/maintaining or declining based on the measures chosen. This results in a rating of either Alternate Rating - Satisfactory Progress or Alternate Rating - Needs Improvement (if the school’s progress is declining).
