Each learner maintains a daily agenda unique to their goals and schedule. Daily schedules are flexible with learners attending between 7:45 am and 2:45 pm. Most non-resident busses arrive at 7:45 and depart at 1:30.
Scheduled Learning Experiences
Individual and small group activities led by the Norris team appear on learner agendas such as academic labs, skill acceleration, conferring, career/interest courses or explorations (ELO’s). These Opportunities to Learn (OTL) are required and vary from day to day.
Flexibility and Open Spaces
Learners have the flexibility to fill in any blank times on their agenda with learning experiences that support their goals such as self scheduling time to work independently on plans and pathways or a pursuit. Learners may opt to use “open spaces” to visit another location to work with a specific staff member or select a space more conducive to the learning they are engaged in.
Learner Readiness and Breaks
Upon arrival and throughout the day, learners are asked to reflect upon their Zone of Readiness and identify personal strategies for engagement. Breaks are available throughout the day. Learners select break options that support their needs.
